The project
We carried out a large-scale pipework renewal on the roof area of the building, supplying all chillers and air handling units (AHU). The project required the installation of a structural steel framework to enable the pipes to be routed around the roof to then feed into the chillers and AHUs.
The main challenge was the movement of tonnes of structural steel and pipework that had to be lifted seven storeys. This required traffic management involvement to enable the safe operation of a crane that was placed in a communal car park for a week at the start and a week at the end of the project to remove the old redundant pipework.
