Key features
- New gas supply from the property border to the boiler room
- Gas pipe had to run through ancient burial ground
- Required the services of archaeologists to advise on the route
- Boilers were upgraded to energy saving boilers
- Project delivered on time and on budget
The further education college and events venue required gas supply and boiler upgrades. This was an unusual project as the new gas supply from the property border to the boiler room would pass through ancient burial grounds. We worked with experienced archaeologists to find the best route through the burial ground. The route was dug by hand to ensure minimum disruption to the grounds.
As the college was still operating, we completed a change-over at the weekend before starting the project to enable the college to be run on a temporary containerised boiler plant, meaning our client could remain fully operational while we carried out the upgrades.
