Role Summary

Richard Irvin FM have a vacancy arising for a Approved Electrician role in Lossiemouth.

In this role the candidate will carry out Planned Preventive Maintenance, Response and Small Electrical works, including Call Outs at Raf Lossiemouth, all related works for all aspects of the Electrical Trade within the MoD properties; all in accordance with all company and legislative requirements. To work on an individual basis or as part of a team.

Main Responsibilities

  • Undertake Planned Maintenance Tasks (Including Test and Inspection) and Electrical repair works to the Airfield at RAF Lossiemouth.
  • Respond to Emergencies.
  • Carry Out New Small Works
  • Assisting with Others
  • Act as a Safety Person when required
  • Assisting and working with Team Members
  • Make sure that works are progressed in line with current company procedures regarding on site Health and Safety and comply with current regulations regarding both Electrical installation and Electrical record keeping.
  • Represent the company at a site level and promote the company capabilities


Experience & Qualifications

  •  Time Served Electrical Apprenticeship
  • Current 18th Edition Regs
  • City & Guilds Electrical Inspection & Testing (2391) (Previously 2394 & 2395)
  • Must have experience of commercial and light industrial installation practices, to include conduit, trunking and SWA works. Both single and three phase systems.
  • Fault finding and diagnosis, and be prepared to learn and work to the MODs own safe system of work
  • Awareness of Health & Safety Regulations.
  • Full clean and current driving licence.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Must be able to pass MoD Security Clearance
  • Working in Hazardous Areas
  • Lightning Protection for MOD Sites with Explosive Facilities desirable but not essential
  • Aircraft Ground Lighting Experience desirable but not essential
  • PASMA & IPAF desirable but not essential
