Role Summary

Provision of Project and Repairs related works for all aspects of the joinery trade within the MoD Estates ; all in accordance with all company and legislative requirements.

Joiner will work on an individual basis or as part of a team.

Main Responsibilities

  • Working supervision and responsibility for (Training will be provided if not held):
  • Fire door installation
  • Fire door maintenance
  • Statutory documentation verification
  • Liaison with client and BM Trada certification body
  • Carry out planned project works and reactive response works.
  • Doors and door frames.
  • Window frames and glazing – wooden and PVC
  • Stud work including plaster boarding.
  • Shuttering
  • Finishing
  • Flooring
  • Roofing
  • Fencing
  • Locks
  • Guttering
  • Repairs to Exit Doors with Specialist Ironmongery
  • Replacing Coded Locks
  • Liaise and assist with project sub-contractors
  • Ensure that works are progressed in-line with current company procedures regarding Health and Safety and comply with current regulations with regard to both installation and record keeping.
  • Represent the company at a site level and promote the company values.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Time served joinery apprenticeship and / or relevant experience.
  • Awareness of Health & Safety regulations and responsibilities.
  • Good understanding of the build process life cycle
  • IT Literate
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to carry out works on own Initiative.
  • Hard working, punctual, team player and trustworthy.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and liaise with clients and other contractors.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Full clean and current driving licence.
  • Security clearances required.
  • Confident using wood working machines.
  • IPAF desirable but not essential.
  • Multi trades experience desirable but not essential.
