Bob Brannan

Chairman

Bob Brannan is an experienced Chairman and ex-CEO of a variety of privately-owned businesses across a wide-range of sectors with a strong track record of success.

Bob joined the Richard Irvin Board in 2013.

Hugh Stewart

Non-executive Director

Hugh Stewart is Managing Partner of Shackleton Ventures, a significant shareholder in Richard Irvin. Hugh has over 30 years’ experience in venture capital. He holds an Economics degree from St Andrews and an MBA with distinction from INSEAD.

Hugh joined the Richard Irvin Board in 2012.

Lindsey Cradock

Non-executive Director

Lindsey is originally from Aberdeen and is an Irvin family member. She has run her own business and latterly had the fun of working her hobby as scuba diving instructor in Scapa Flow, Orkney.

Lindsey joined the Richard Irvin Board in 2014.

Richard Emmerson

Non-executive Director

Richard is a qualified Chartered Accountant and has worked in the Construction industry for over 15 years. He is the Great, Great Grandson of Richard Irvin. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf, cycling and cookery.

Richard joined the Richard Irvin Board in 2005.

Will Lund

Non-executive Director

Will is the Great, Great Grandson of Richard Irvin and currently runs Arctic Fox, a dry ice cleaning business. Previously he worked as a Health and Safety Manager. He is a RFU qualified referee and coach and enjoys walking his dogs in the countryside.

Will joined the Richard Irvin Board in 2003.

Willie MacLean

Chief Executive Officer

Willie is an experienced leader having worked in senior leadership roles in various sectors worldwide. He thrives in challenging and changing business environments and leads the strategic growth of Richard Irvin.

Willie spends what time he can with his children, loves NFL (the Broncos), playing guitar and chess (sometimes all at once).

George Still

Finance Director

George is a Chartered Accountant, with over 20 years SME industry experience. He works closely with the CEO and Company Board providing strategic financial guidance and robust and efficient financial management and control.

Time not in the office is spent with his family, typically ferrying his youngest daughter from one social event to another!

Willie MacLean

Kevin joined the business in 1998 as a quantity surveyor and led our surveying and estimating teams as Commercial Director from 2010. At the helm of our M&E business unit since 2013, Kevin is responsible for the strategic growth of the unit and for providing leadership and direction to the team through application of our core values.

When not at work Kevin enjoys spending time with his wife and two children although his favourite place is the garage tending to his classic mini cooper.

Mark Buchan

Business Unit Director FM

Mark has over 30 years’ experience in the M&E Service Industry mainly working in senior roles for large national FM providers.

Originally from Aberdeen, Mark now lives in Stirling, which is a perfect base for him to indulge in his hobbies of leisure travel and walking across Scotland and North England.

Kim Woolner

HR and Corporate Services Director

Kim is a senior HR professional who’s previously worked for ASOS, Discovery, English National Opera and Total Oil Marine. Kim joined the company in 2012 and has the primary responsibility for all HR and HSEQ activity, including setting and leading the strategy.

Outside work, she enjoys relaxing with a glass of wine and spending time with her boys – a slight contradiction!

Sharon Walker

Personal Assistant

Sharon has a strong administration background and joined the company in 2015 to provide support to the CEO and Senior Management Team. Prior to working at Richard Irvin Sharon worked for EnerMech, Grampian Housing Association and Maersk Contractors.

Outside work she enjoys socialising, cookery, reading and cinema.

Kevin Shinnie

Business Unit Director M&E

Gary Crisp

Senior Operations Director

Gary joined the business in 1981 working within the then major contacts department, delivering/ managing M & E projects throughout Scotland. Since 1997 Gary has led the major project delivery team as Contracts Director and now heads up the mechanical & electrical operational teams as Senior Operations Director. He has responsibility for the safe, effective delivery of all major projects.

Away from work his passion is football and is an avid Man United supporter.

Derek Rollo

Business Development Manager

Derek re-joined the Company in 2015 in a joint role of Business Development and Pre-Construction Manager, having previously served as Design and Engineering Director. In his new role Derek assists and develops proposals and costs in conjunction with the Customer and Project Design Team from initial concept up to Construction.

Outwith work Derek enjoys spending time with his partner, Dawn, both of whom are keen golfers. Derek is a member of Portlethen Golf Club, where you will find him at first light most Saturday mornings.

Richie Cook

Senior Operations Manager

Richie joined the RIES team in December 2016 to lead and expand our M&E operations in the Central Scotland Region, having a proven track record in successful operational delivery and with excellent customer relationships formed throughout his twenty year career.

Richie’s core values are very much in sync with the company’s thus creating a harmonious and productive working environment.

When not at work Richie likes to spend time with his partner and children, dining out and sightseeing.

Eddie Gallacher

Estimating Manager

Eddie joined Richard Irvin in 1989 in our Glasgow office as a Mechanical Estimator, relocated to Aberdeen in 1997 and now as Estimating Manager he is responsible for the day to day running of our M&E business estimating team.

Outside of work his interests are reading a good Robert Ludlum novel, swimming and supporting his football team.

Brydon Greenhill

Preconstruction Engineer

Brydon joined Richard Irvin in September 2016 as a Preconstruction Engineer and has been in the Electrical trade for over 40 years so comes with a wealth of experience & knowledge. He finds working with Richard Irvin gives him an opportunity to help develop the business at the design stage by helping to resolve issues that may become problems later in the contracts.

When not at work Brydon enjoys Curling, Golfing or driving his Classic 1978 MG Midget around the quiet Angus roads. He also loves relaxing with his wife a in the sun at our Spanish apartment on the Costa Blanca.

Mike Munro

Region Director

Mike joined the company in 1994 as a contracts engineer working out of our Inverness office and in 2005 took over responsibility for all elements of the business within the Northern Region as the Regional Director.

Away from work Mike enjoys time with his family and friends and where opportunity and weather permit the goal is seclusion from it all with a fly rod and a day fishing.

Andy McMillan

Workshop Manager - Off-site Manufacturing

Andy has been part of Richard Irvin since January 2009 when he returned from a year travelling Australia. Swapping sun for sites, Andy progressed into the office to undertake a CAD draughting role which then led to a supervisors position within workshop.

When not managing the workshop, Andy is usually found out in the wild with his 4 legged friend Murphy.     

Kevin Milne

Design Engineer

Kevin joined Richard Irvin in 2009 as a CAD engineer and was responsible for the production of 3D manufacturing and co-ordination drawings. In 2014 Kevin changed his role to a Mechanical Design Engineer, a role that he had fulfilled for over ten years earlier in his career.

During his spare time, Kevin enjoys swimming, cycling and running and occasionally takes on the challenge of Ironman triathlons. One of his more relaxed past times is spending time with his son and teaching him how to ride his first bike.

Keith Bartlett

Revit Engineer

Keith joined the company in 2016 as a Revit Engineer, with also the capability to assist in electrical design. He is always keen to learn new skills which can help Richard Irvin.

Keith has a young family which takes up most of his time. In the little time he has, if the weather is nice he will be on his motorbike, heading towards Braemar.

Lee Diack

Technical Engineer

Lee Joined the company back in 2015 as a Technical engineer with a background in Structural Draughting and Mechanical Building Services Design. Since being with the company Lee has been trained in 3D Design and become an integral part of the Building Information Modelling team.

When not at work Lee spends most of his time working on his own Self Build house project, but when the tools are down he loves spending time with his wife and dog going for walks in the picturesque Scottish countryside.   

Ron Guyan

Planning Engineer

Ron has a wealth of experience in Planning having worked for British Telecom and NG Bailey. He was invited into the business in 2013 as a Planning Engineer - his role is the production and monitoring of logic linked programmes covering all stages of the project from tender through to design, procurement, construction, commissioning and successful project completion.

With his spare time Ron and his wife run a taxi service for his 3 grandchildren in Aberdeen, any other spare time or money is spent on visiting his other grandchild in Denver, Colorado.

Ian Cochrane

Surveying Manager

Ian has over 30 years’ experience in the construction industry working for both Main Contractors and M&E Contractors. He returned to the business in 2012 where he now heads up the surveying department.

When not at work you can find Ian relaxing and travelling with his wife or watching from the side lines the fortunes of his local rugby club.

Kenny Allardice

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Kenny joined the business in 2014 as Senior Mechanical Design Engineer following senior design roles in private consultancy and contracting. Kenny is part of the team responsible for the M&E design of projects.

When not at work Kenny spends time with his wife and 4 children as well as trying to play golf in his spare time.

Craig Arnott

Senior Revit Designer

Craig is a time-served Heating Engineer, who over the years has focused his expertise into conceptualising complex plant room layouts and resolving coordination issues.

In his spare time, Craig is usually in the hills, either Mountain Biking or Trail Running - often with his Wife, Son & two dogs in tow.

George Dempster

Design & Electrical Engineering Manager

George joined the business in 2009 from NG Bailey as Electrical Manager and has over 30 years’ experience within the electrical industry. George is now responsible for the company’s in house design offering and also heads up the electrical engineering function. When offered the chance to come to Richard Irvin, George saw this as a great opportunity to work for a reputable local company that had aspirations to grow the electrical side of the business and equal their current mechanical positioning within the industry.

When not at work George enjoys playing golf when he can, and follows Aberdeen Football Club where he is a season ticket holder along with his two sons.

Mark Buchan

Joe Jack

Division Manager

Joe made the move to Richard Irvin from Carillion Energy where he delivered a variety of energy saving measures through CERT and CESP. In his current role Joe works with our Local Authorities and Housing Associations customers delivering Heating and Insulation programmes helping them deliver EESSH and HEEPS ABS targets.

Having previously run five Edinburgh Marathons in the last 10 years, Joe now spends his spare time relaxing with his family and enjoys a game of golf.

Sandy Sheehan

Division Manager

Sandy previously worked with Marriott Group in London before making the move North to take his role as Division Manager. He has a wealth of account management expertise and endeavours to deliver the highest quality customer experience.

Sandy classes himself as an outdoors family man and is a ‘keen’ runner and gardener. He also has two rescue dogs.

Brian Irvine

Division Director

Brian started working for Richard Irvin in 1988 working through the ranks from Contract Engineer in the projects department to Contract Manager and then to Operations Director for FM Mobile Services. Brian enjoys working as part of a team - all striving to achieve the same result of providing an excellent service to the customers.

When he has any spare time Brian likes mountain biking, Dinghy sailing and spending time with family and friends.

Stewart Butler

Division Manager

Stewart has previously worked with numerous large FM Companies and most recently with GS Hall before moving to RIES to take up the position of Division Manager – Minor Projects. Stewart has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the FM industry in both operational and commercial aspects of contract/project management, and takes pride in delivering both contracts and projects to the client’s expectation and on budget.

Stewart is a keen runner and has previously completed various 10k and half marathons and is currently training for his first triathlon.

Ronnie Cromar

Senior Operations Manager

Ronnie started with Richard Irvin in a 1988 as a Foreman engineer in charge of large contracts including Dr Grays Hospital, Elgin, and Marks and Spencer, Glasgow. Over the years he has progressed through the ranks to his current position of FM Senior Operations Manager.

Ronnie enjoys the feeling of job satisfaction when the client is happy with the company’s service.

Out with work he spends time with this family including his grandchildren, and is involved with juvenile football on a Sunday.

Claire Gray

HR Advisor

Claire began her career in HR nearly 10 years ago in a large Oil & Gas Services Company, gaining her Associate CIPD membership during this time. She provides generalist advice and support to the business and its employees in line with Company and legal requirements. Claire works hard to develop key internal and external working relationships and is motivated by the challenges of finding appropriate HR solutions to HR issues.

Outside work, Claire enjoys spending time with family and friends (including her sausage dog Tom). She also has a love of anything ‘music’ and tries to attend as many live performances as she can.

Rachel Forbes

HR Coordinator

Rachel is an Associate member of the CIPD and joined Richard Irvin in 2014 in her first HR role. She transferred to our Edinburgh office in 2016 and provides basic HR advice and support to employees and managers across the business. Rachel is also responsible for the administration and co-ordination of group HR activity and projects for the function.

In her spare time, Rachel enjoys eating out, socialising with family and friends and is happiest when on a plane to somewhere sunny and exotic.
